The beginning steps in changing a mind set put in place for so many years, can be overwhelming. It is easy for me to say “eat real food” but for people who are used to grains and sugars in their breakfast, i.e toast, cereal, pancakes, syrup, waffles, orange juice, etc., they may find it difficult to know what to change it to. The image of “what’s for breakfast?” is strong so I start my clients on just changing this one meal.
Beginning with a plate of greens (kale, spinach, Swiss chard, or lettuce just to name a few) is at first a weird concept for people. Top that with two strips of high quality bacon and a local organic egg or two, sprinkled with freshly ground flax-seed, some avocado, all drizzled with high quality coconut oil and now you have a satisfying, healthy breakfast that will keep you all the way to lunch without blood sugar dips. This is food that doesn’t come out of a mega corporation’s laboratory created, packaged invention!
